(Capture, Reflect, Share & Connect) - Lee Fox - BIO

For the last 25 years, I’ve shared my love of the great out of doors with the youth of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta at Camp Kiwanis.  I have lots of mental memories of intercity youth experiencing the “wilderness” as they would say. Conquering their fears of the woods at night by taking a night hike or sitting on flat rock, on the Broad River, and gazing up at the stars as the “night musicians” play their courting songs. Oh yes to watch a youth hold a whirligig for the first time – trembling hands and then to be amazed at the present it left in their hand. Does it really smell like watermelon? My greatest inspiration comes from my leadership group called Leaders In Nature Kingdom (L.I.NK.). For they are the torch bearers who will continue to turn others onto the environment and maybe one day - all will see nature’s beauty and our dependence upon her.
I’ve truly been blessed to have such an opportunity to share and learn from everyone.

I’ve tried to live true to My Mission - this quote - “The Essence of Success by Unknown

“Successful is the person who has lived well, laughed often and loved much, who has gained the respect of children, who leaves the world better than they found it, who has never lacked appreciation for the earth’s beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves.”

My new hobby is just a continuation of my mission to share the earth’s beauty. I've been interested in photography since the early 80s, but in the last five years, I've really gotten serious about the art of photography.  Even though, I’m self-taught photographer and started late in life, I feel a passion to capture nature’s gifts, big or small on film. It is the “poetry of things” that inspires me to seek out those special places and to investigate those unusual creatures. I’m very fortunate for my wife of 19 years loves the environment as much as I do. We spend most of our weekends and vacations in the many wonderful parks, preserves and refuges in the southeast with an occasion trip out west. Nature still amazes me and guides me as I wonder through the woods looking for that special shot. When a picture captures the essence of that moment in time it is easy to congratulate oneself, but then I remember that these wonders are not one’s own creation but Gods. I will continue to try to expand my photographic knowledge and ability by continuously reading and practicing my technique. The naturalist in me will continue to strive to create images that will do justice to beauty of all God’s creations.

I hope that what I create visually will give both pleasure and meaning to all those who share these places and see these things with me.

Thanks for caring for the environment and your interest in my pictures!!
